How much will it cost?
Three things move it: how many rooms, where the outdoor unit can sit, and how far the pipework has to run. The same three bedrooms come to different figures in a Victorian terrace and a new-build flat — so we'd rather tell you what yours comes to than put a number on a page that fits nobody. Tell us where you are and we'll come back today.
Is the price genuinely fixed?
Yes. The figure you agree is the figure you pay. It moves only if you ask for something different from what was quoted.
Your home and permissions
The parts that depend on your building rather than on us.
Do I need planning permission?
Usually not. Since 2025 most domestic systems that both heat and cool fall under permitted development. It does depend on the unit, where it goes and what kind of building you have — so we check yours on the call and tell you exactly where you stand, before you spend anything.
Where will the outdoor unit go?
It needs airflow, room to service it and a sensible pipe route to the indoor units — a rear garden, a side return or a wall position usually works. We look at the space, the neighbouring windows and any restrictions with you on the call, and the position is agreed before anything is ordered.
Will my neighbours be able to object?
We choose the outdoor position, the mounting and the anti-vibration with the boundary and nearby windows in mind, and the noise limit that comes with permitted development is part of what we check for you. You get the figure in writing: the sound level calculated at your boundary and at the nearest neighbouring window, against the limit — so it is a number you can show someone, not a reassurance.
Will it make a mess of my walls?
You see the pipe route and agree what will be visible before anyone starts, and the trunking, boxing and making good are written into your quotation. Nothing about the finish is a surprise.

Can it heat as well as cool?
Most of the systems we fit can do both, and it matters beyond comfort: a heating-capable system is also the one that generally falls under permitted development. The functions of your specific equipment are confirmed in your quotation.
How quiet will it be?
Quieter than most people expect — modern indoor units are designed to disappear into a room. We go through the manufacturer's sound figures for the exact units we are proposing, and where the outdoor unit will sit, so you know what you are getting before you agree to it.
What will it cost to run?
It comes down to how much you use it, your tariff and how well your home holds temperature. On the call we show you the efficiency rating of the system we are proposing and what that means day to day, so you can weigh it up properly.
